Izabela Albrycht took part in the NATO Anniversary Conference

“Providing Security, Responding to Challenges” was the main theme of the conference hosted in Łazienki Palace on March, 18th as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Poland’s accession to NATO by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation – organizer of the Warsaw Security Forum – in cooperation with President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michał Szczerba MP and NATO HQ. The event welcomed the political and military leadership of Poland.

The Director of the AGH Cybersecurity Centre, Izabela Albrycht, moderated the panel discussion titled "Understanding the Challenges of NATO's Future”. She emphasized the need for NATO countries to go beyond traditional approaches to acquiring weapons and military equipment, stressing the importance of developing novel solutions to address emerging threats.

- As NATO countries, it's not enough to rely solely on purchasing weapons and military hardware. We must also prioritize the development of new and innovative solutions to significantly enhance our capabilities and cooperation – Albrycht remarked during the panel discussion. – Maintaining our technological edge across all areas is paramount in navigating the evolving security landscape.

The conference coincided in time with the announcement of a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen NATO's technological prowess - the establishment of the NATO DIANA Accelerator in Poland, to be hosted by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow and the Krakow Technology Park. The initiative is intended to support NATO's approach to innovation and readiness for the next 25 years.

- I am happy that a few days ago I was able to participate in the announcement of the launch of the Krakow DIANA Accelerator, which will make us much better prepared to counter future threats – said the Director of the Cybersecurity Centre. - The initiative harnesses the potential of emerging and disruptive innovations and builds on a collaborative network of 23 accelerators located throughout NATO.

The key contributors to the panel moderated by Izabela Albrycht were Florence Gaub, Gen. Karol Molenda, Christopher Porter, and Marta Poślad.

As NATO marks 25 years of Poland's membership, initiatives such as the Krakow DIANA Accelerator underscore the nation's commitment to driving innovation and collaboration within the alliance, ensuring its readiness to confront the challenges of tomorrow's security landscape.
